Thematics :

At the beginning of October, the Talent & Career team organised an Audit Round Table on the Reims and Rouen campuses. This event attracted several hundred participants, proof that the sector is attractive!

The format of the event – a round table with Deloitte, EY, KPMG, Mazars and PWC, followed by an hour of informal discussions with auditors – attracted a large number of students.

For the Talent & Career Recruitment Forum and Events team, organising the Audit Round Table had several objectives: to understand the financial audit and advisory sectors, to gain a better understanding of the jobs offered by these firms, to find out what skills are required and to introduce participants to the recruitment process.

Isabelle Chevalier, Talent & Career Director:

Historically, auditing and financial consultancy firms have taken on many students for internships, and there is still a very high level of professional integration within these firms, particularly for the Consulting, Controlling and Auditing tracks. These firms are privileged partners, they have a strong presence with our students and their alumni are very loyal to the School.

It is important to note that this year, during the round tables, the emphasis was placed on the transformation of the firms’ core business functions and, in particular, on the growing importance of extra-financial criteria, such as ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) – criteria that have considerably enriched the tasks entrusted to students“.

Nicolas Grillot, PwC Luxembourg Audit Partner, Class of 2006

Our firm is interested in being able to explain our activities to students. Without these exchanges, they don’t necessarily have the right understanding of what we do on a day-to-day basis. And beyond the job itself, we talk about our background and bring a personal point of view to the table, which is a very human aspect that appeals to students“.

Yasmine Rajraji, PGE student in Master Year 1

I came to find out more about the auditing and consultancy professions and to decide whether this is the direction in which I’m going to specialise in Master Year 2. It’s a great opportunity to meet professionals and have personal contact with them.

I particularly liked the proximity between us and the company representatives. They know our school and the academic tracks we’re studying, so they can really advise us“.

Clémentine Depardieu, Junior Auditor KPMG Reims, Class of 2023

“After the round table, we were able to talk to the students informally, which gave us the opportunity to meet them more closely. Talking face-to-face makes it easier for the students to open up, and for us it’s an opportunity to get down to the nitty-gritty, to offer them real advice on their future internships and give them information on what they’ll be doing as junior employees”.

Tom Dupont, PGE student in Master Year 1

I’m particularly interested in the financial advisory professions, and Transaction Services in particular, and the round table confirmed that choice, so I’m delighted to have been able to listen to the different firms.

This event is a great introduction to the subject, because it gives you a good understanding of how auditing and consulting work, the different professions they encompass and, above all, the recruitment processes that are quite specific to these sectors“.
