A team of NEOMA professors was on hand to support this key stage in the transformation of Reims’ retail ecosystem: the opening of a single-access point for artisans and retailers in Reims.
Friday 24 May marked the first anniversary of Reims Commerce. Opened in May 2023, Reims Commerce, located in the heart of the downtown area, is a single-access point for artisans and retailers in Reims.
A team of NEOMA professors was on hand to support this key stage in the transformation of Reims’ retail ecosystem. Jean-Baptiste Suquet, Pierre Lescoat, Aurélien Rouquet, Antoine Souchaud, and Marie-Carolina Zanette have written a white paper, “Concevoir et animer un bureau du commerce : Propositions pour la redynamisation des centres-villes”, for the Greater Reims Area’s office of Développement économique, Commerce et Enseignement supérieur.
The white paper positions the city’s approach in the broader context of city-centre retail crisis (inventory and analysis of city-centre management as a response to this crisis). It then identifies and details four possible organisational rationales for revitalising the city centre.
Lastly, it makes recommendations on the issues involved in setting up an office of commerce adapted to the area and its possible changes.
