The 3rd edition of this regional student competition took place on 5 February on the Reims campus of NEOMA Business School, with professional comedians Hugo Tout Seul & Yazid Assoumani as coaches and members of the jury.

“The NEOMA Comedian Contest is a stand-up competition that gives students an overview of what it’s like to be a professional comedian for a few weeks. It’s also an opportunity to perform in front of 500 people, to be broadcast on YouTube and, why not, to trigger career opportunities!” explains Yanis, a 3rd year student on the Master in Management programme and president of the NEOMA Comedian Contest student association.

For this performance, which is open to the public in Reims, the students have written their sketches with only one set of instructions: good manners and kindness. The amateur comedians come from NEOMA, as well as several other institutions, including URCA – Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne.

Business school students are no strangers to public speaking, which is an essential part of the skills needed by future managers, but it’s a different matter to perform in front of 500 people. They rose to the challenge – well done!
