DIEGO CASTILLO Jesus

Ph.D. in Business and Finance

Jesús Diego Castillo is an Assistant professor in Supply Chain Management at NEOMA Business School. He holds a Ph.D. in Business and Finance, Operations Management track, from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, a Research Master in Business and Finance, and a bachelor in Industrial Engineering. During his Ph.D., he was a visiting research scholar at the Operations Management Department of Copenhagen Business School. His empirical research focuses on supply networks in topics such as cognitive embeddedness, social-ecological resilience, sustainability, and risk management. He applies quantitative methods to study financial and non-financial outcomes in supply networks. His ongoing work entitled “Cognitive and Structural Embeddedness of the Supply Base: Effects on Buyer Profitability” obtained the 2022 Institute for Supply Management (ISM) Best Supply Chain Paper Award at the Academy of Management Annual Meeting, Seattle, US. Among other subjects, Jesús teaches Sustainable Supply Chain, Procurement, and Green Mobility in the MSc in Sustainable Transformation. He has served as an ad-hoc reviewer for the Journal of Business Logistics and the International Journal of Logistics Management. He is currently a member of the Journal of Supply Chain Management’s Reviewer Development Program. Jesús has been involved in industry projects on traceability and supply chain mapping.
