LENGLET Marc

PhD, Management Sciences

Marc Lenglet is Associate Professor in the Strategy and Entrepreneurship Department. A graduate from ESSEC Business School (2004), he holds an MSc in philosophy (Paris IV Sorbonne, 2002) and a PhD in Management (Paris Dauphine University, 2008). He teaches courses in the humanities, and the ethical and societal issues raised by technology, innovation, and digital markets. His research focuses on compliance, rules, and norms, and on how algorithmic agencements impact regulatory practices within financial institutions. His work has been published in Economy & Society, New Political Economy, New Technology, Work & EmploymentOrganizationOrganization, Research in the Sociology of Organizations, and Theory, Culture & Society. He is the co-editor of The Making of Finance: Perspectives from the Social Sciences (Routledge, 2019), a book gathering contributions from researchers working in the field of social studies of finance. Before joining academia, he held regulatory positions in the banking and financial sector.
