Eric Mottet
Director of Research & Development at the French Institute for International and Strategic Affairs (IRIS) and Professor at the Catholic University of Lille, is an expert in Indo-Pacific geopolitics, co-directing the region’s Geopolitical Observatory. With responsibilities in various institutions, including the CNRS, he has been a professor in Quebec and has directed geopolitical observatories, while contributing to research on contemporary Southeast Asia. The author of numerous articles and books, he is a regular contributor to the media in Europe, North America and Asia.
Olivier Friedman
An engineer by training with almost 20 years’ experience as CTO and CIO, founded several start-ups after completing an MBA at HEC and training in professional coaching. Certified by the International Coach Federation, he now runs his own firm, PrismUp, offering advice, training and coaching to managers and teams to develop their potential and improve their performance, with an approach focusing on technical, business and human aspects.

Curriculum
The Executive Leadership and Geopolitics Certificate is designed for all experienced managers and executives looking to develop their leadership skills by transforming themselves and the world around them. This course will enable them to better understand themselves and the major geopolitical issues with which they are, or will be, confronted, in order to progress towards a better version of themselves and the world.
Spread over a period of 5 weeks, the course includes both in-person and distance learning sessions, with synchronous and asynchronous exchanges, as well as individual and group work.
1 – Introspection & holistic vision
Get to know yourself and the world in order to transform your relationships (in-person)
Discover your drivers and identify your employees’ distinctive strengths. Get involved via UN simulations throughout the course. Benefit from a keynote lecture on the world’s major geopolitical issues by Pascal Boniface.
2 – Leadership 4.0 and Geopolitics
Transform your stance and becoming aware of your role as a global player (distance learning)
Shift to Leadership 4.0 and develop employee autonomy. Become a major player in the geopolitical arena. Experiment with concepts in asynchronous triads.
3 – Decision-making and international crises
Analyse and make better decisions to transform problems into solutions (remote)
Understand the mechanisms of decision-making, balance, rationality and intuition. Manage international crises like a seasoned decision-maker.

4 – Transformation and adaptability
Transform in the face of change (remote)
Identify the obstacles to transformation to strengthen your organisation’s ability to adapt to change. Put the transformation model into practice within your teams and explore geopolitical representations.
5 – Assessment (in-person)
End the UN simulation with a skills assessment, with a focus on the practical skills developed throughout the programme.
Please note: The Executive Leadership & Geopolitics Certificate is a skills block included in the General Management Programme (GMP). The GMP is a 10-month course (three days a month) consisting of five skill blocks focused on positive leadership, innovation culture and managerial best practice. By joining the GMP, you can complete your Leadership & Geopolitics to obtain the RNCP Level 6 qualification “Business Unit Management and Development Manager”.
Evaluation methods
Written and oral evaluations:
- Synchronous assessment: Participants will be assessed on their understanding of the UN simulation and the conclusions and contributions they have drawn from it, which they will present on the last day of the programme in TEDx format.
- Asynchronous evaluation: Participants will keep a logbook throughout the module and will write a reflection article on the benefits of this course on their personal leadership.

The selection process is performed throughout the year. There is about a two-week interval between the applicant’s first step in the application process and the response from the selection jury.
